Edward Williams set to be released from Doncaster Rovers: Implications for the EFL League One Loanee

Midfielder/Right Winger Edward Williams has impressed on loan from EFL League One side Doncaster Rovers. The 26-year-old whose contract expires on June 30, 2022, will be a free agent once his contract and subsequent loan expire per a release from Doncaster Rovers. Thus, he will be free to sign with any team. Williams who had to work his way back into fitness due to a late arrival and early injury has started the past five games for Rochester. Williams has scored once, off a set piece from over forty yards out! His goal is already an early contender for goal of the season! He also has impressed with his passing and leadership, taking the captain band when Lamar Batista missed the U.S. Open Cup match against NYC FC.

Prediction: Look for Williams to sign a contract for at least the rest of the season, allowing him to showcase his skills for a potential move back to England. Also, Williams is also said to be close to head coach Bruno Baltazar, being named as the second most popular option for coach's pet on RNYFC's TikTok. Overall, Williams is a valued member on the pitch and a leader in the locker room. As such, I would expect Baltazar and Lee Tucker to do everything to keep him in Rochester for the remainder of the season.
