Baltazar and Rochester bag monthly MLS Next Pro Monthly Awards!

Rochester New York FC coach Bruno Baltazar has won the MLS Next Pro Coach of the Month for May 2022! Baltazar led Rochester to an undefeated May in the MLS Next Pro, as he managed injuries to star men Milan Vanacker and Will Inalien. Baltazar also switched formations after a slow start, abandoning 4-4-2 and 4-1-3-1 that he used earlier in the season for a 3-4-3 formation. This change that put Gibran Rayo up as the lone striker supported by two wingers, immediately made Rochester a more potent offensive threat, scoring eleven goals in the three games using that formation in May, compared to the five goals scored in the first five league games while using a back four. Baltazar's men finished with a goal difference of +10 and included two clean sheets during May.

Rochester New York FC as a team won the MLS Next Pro's Team of the Month for May 2022. Rochester came into may with no league wins, they left May with four! Considering Rochester only played four MLS Next Pro matches during that month, its safe to say they had a pretty good month. Rochester picked up all twelve possible points in May, catapulting up to 5th place from 9th by the end of May (Rochester now stands at 4th place). Out of the four victories, Rochester won by three or more, three times with two of those matches ending with clean sheets!

Pedro Dolabella just missed out on the MLS Next Pro's Player of the Month Award, falling to Columbus Crew 2 forward Jacen Russell-Rowe. Dolabella actually outscored Russell-Rowe in the month of May, scoring four goals in four matches, compared to Russell-Rowe's three goals in three matches.

Caíque fell behind New England Revolution keeper Jacob Jackson who saved all sixteen shots that came his way in May. Caíque saved 81.8% of the shots on target in May and secured two clean sheets as well.

Congratulations to Bruno Baltazar and the entire Rochester New York FC team on an excellent May! The awards were well deserved!
